Rose MD’s private lab allows you to complete testing without delays or multiple appointments. Whether your requisition comes from our clinic or another physician, we make the process simple, efficient, and medically integrated so your results lead to clear next steps.

- Routine blood work: CBC, metabolic panel, lipid profile, A1C, thyroid (TSH), liver and kidney function
- Infectious disease: STI panels (HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, hepatitis B & C, herpes), Lyme serology
- Gastrointestinal: H. pylori breath test, stool cultures, C. difficile, Ova & Parasites
- Urine: urinalysis, urine culture, microalbumin
- Reproductive & hormonal: pregnancy test (urine/blood), FSH, LH, estradiol, testosterone, prolactin

- Lab turnaround times can vary depending on the specific test and laboratory processing. At Rose MD, we review all results promptly and will contact you with updates or if any follow-up is required. Patients are notified even when results are normal.

Pricing & Private Billing
Lab fees are private (not billed to RAMQ). Many extended health insurance plans cover private lab testing in part or in full , check your plan details. Rose MD provides a receipt you can submit for reimbursement. For a cost estimate, send us your requisition in advance or call the clinic.
Rose MD Patients vs External Patients
Rose MD patients: your ordering physician is notified of results and will contact you with follow-up instructions. Urgent results are flagged.
External patients (with a requisition from another doctor): your results are sent to the ordering physician’s office. Turnaround times apply. For concerns about results, follow up with the physician who ordered the tests.
FAQs
Can I bring a requisition from my own doctor and use your lab?
Yes. Rose MD accepts lab requisitions from external physicians and nurse practitioners. You do not need to book an appointment with a Rose MD doctor, simply bring your requisition during lab collection hours.
Do private lab fees get covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover private lab fees partially or fully. Coverage varies by insurer and plan. Rose MD provides a receipt you can submit directly to your insurance provider.
Do you bill RAMQ for lab testing?
No. Rose MD does not bill RAMQ for laboratory services. All lab fees are private.
How do I receive my lab results?
If you’re a Rose MD patient, your ordering physician reviews your results and one of our team members will contact you. If you’re an external patient, results are sent to the physician who ordered your tests, follow up with them for interpretation.
What kinds of tests are available at Rose MD's lab?
Routine blood work, STI and infectious disease panels, H. pylori breath testing, urine and stool testing, hormonal and reproductive panels, swabs and cultures, and inflammatory markers. If you need a specific test not listed, call the clinic to confirm availability.
Can I get lab testing done at Rose MD even if I'm not a Rose MD patient?
Yes. Rose MD’s on-site lab in Mont-Royal accepts both existing patients and external patients. If you’re an existing Rose MD patient, your ordering physician is notified of your results directly. If you’re an external patient, simply bring a valid requisition from your own doctor or specialist, you can book your appointment online or call us. Lab fees are private (not billed to RAMQ), and many insurance plans cover a significant portion of the cost.
